Do the Main Library and the North Branch Library have meeting rooms for the public?

Yes.  Fees may apply.  Meeting rooms may be reserved by contacting Karen Nakamura at 310-318-0676, ext. 2531.

Do you have story times for children at the Library?

Yes. Information on story times for children of all ages is available on the Library's online calendar or by calling the Children's Department at 310-318-0675, option 6.

Does the Library accept donations?

We can use: Popular fiction, classic fiction, new nonfiction, biographies, new computer books, paperbacks in very good shape, children's books, DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks on CD.  Materials must be clean and in good condition.

We can't use: Textbooks, old computer books, old travel books, old medical books, old encyclopedias, VHS videos, vinyl LPs, audiobooks on tape, music audiocassettes, or any materials that are dirty, smelly, moldy, underlined, highlighted, falling apart, water-damaged, yellowing, or incomplete.

All donations must be given without restrictions.  There is no guarantee that donations will be added to the Library's collections, and any materials not used by the Library will not be returned to the donor.  Library staff will provide a written, itemized receipt of the materials donated, but cannot give a declared value of the donation.

Please bring materials that you wish to donate to the Checkout Desk at the Main Library or the North Branch Library during our regular business hours. 

Does the Library have out of town telephone books?

No. The Residence portion of the reference database Reference USA provides telephone numbers for US residences. 

Does the Library provide Internet Classes?

The Library offers free Internet classes on Saturday mornings from 9-10:30 during the Fall and Spring months. To find out the current class schedule and to register for a class, please call 310-318-0675, option 5, or visit the Reference Desk at the Main Library or the North Branch Library.

How do I obtain a Redondo Beach Public Library Card?

To obtain a Redondo Beach Public Library card, go to the Registration Desk at the Main Library or the North Branch Library. A current, government-issued photo ID and proof of your current residential address are required.

You can also apply for an online library card. The online card is limited to providing access to the Library's online information databases. In order to obtain a library card with full borrowing privileges (including downloads and streaming), you will need to visit the Library.
