How do I report speeding traffic in my neighborhood?

To report a problem with a specific vehicle call the Police Department at 310-379-5411.

To request special attention from the Traffic Bureau call the Traffic Hotline at 310-937-6605.

How do I report flooding in my neighborhood?

To report flooding that is happening now, call the Fire Department at 310-379-5416.

To discuss flooding that has occurred in the past, contact the Engineering Department at 310-318-0661.

How do I report or complain about a City employee?

Contact the employee's department and ask to speak to his/her supervisor.  If not satisfied with the supervisor's action, contact the department head.  Human Resources, at 310-318-0659, can help you determine what department you need if you are not sure.

How do I report or complain about a teacher?

Contact the Redondo Beach Unified School District at 310-379-5449.

How do I report or complain about a Firefighter/Paramedic?

Call the Fire Department Operations Chief at 310-318-0663.

How do I report or complain about a Police Officer?

You may contact a Patrol Sergeant anytime to discuss or report the actions of an officer.  Depending on the assignment of the officer or nature of the complaint, you may be referred to the officer's direct supervisor.

Formal complaints will be forwarded to the Professional Standards Unit for investigation.

How do I report or complain about a Traffic Officer?

The Sergeant in charge of the Traffic Unit handles most complaints regarding Traffic and Motor Officers.  The Traffic Sergeant can be contacted at our main station 401  Diamond Street or by telephone: (310) 379-2477 Extension 1-2359

Formal complaints will be forwarded to the Professional Standards Unit for investigation.

When can I come in and speak with a City Planner?

The Planning Division is located in Door 2 of City Hall and has walk-in counter hours from 7:30 am to 12:00 noon Monday through Friday (City Hall is closed every other Friday).  If you would like to see a City Planner in the afternoon, please call us for an appointment at (310) 318-0637.

Who do I call about construction noise?

If you are calling about loud radios or offensive language coming from the construction site, call the Police Department at 310-379-5411.

Construction is allowed:
Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.;
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No construction is allowed on Sunday's or the following holiday's without a special permit: January 1, July 4, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

If the noise is coming from the construction equipment itself (drills, saws, mixers) contact the City's Building Services Division at 318-0636.
